Welcome King Jesus!
–Annette Geffert
His arrival so quiet and not how predicted
He came in a manger which contradicted
Don’t kings call for grandeur and splendor?
But shepherds saw God as a child so tender.
Who could imagine a King in disguise?
No one but God could ever devise.
A little babe born in the dark of night
Such breathtaking scheme to end sin’s plight.
Fully God yet fully man, Jesus was born on that sacred day
that changed the world from a bed of hay.
Heaven bridged Earth with Love’s grand touch
Redemption’s Plan that cost so much.
God sent His Son to this darkened world
For hope and a future to be unfurled
From a wooden manger to a wooden cross
Oh blessed of days when all will see
His glory through all eternity.
How awesome how gentle, how loving is He
Who brought salvation and set me free.
Alleluia to God in the highest of praise
Angels from heaven and man’s voices raise.
Holy the Lamb and forever will be.
Alleluia to God, the Ancient of Days.
But now He comes as a babe in the hay
Welcome King Jesus this Christmas Day!

Oh, Annette, this is more than beautiful. God has blessed you with such talent to put His words on paper! Canon in D… you always seem to add my favorite songs. This one is perfect for your poem. It’s so gentle, just like Jesus. God has used you to bless me so much this year! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
