celebrate

Tomorrow is Mike’s mother’s birthday. She is a wonderful woman whom I admire so much. She always is learning and loves to try new things. Both Mike’s parents don’t sit still very much at all. They go and work out at the local YMCA and do water aerobics. They travel all the time.

Mostly, what I admire is that they both are open to new things. I love the way Mike’s mother wanted to learn the piano years ago and just decided, after retirement age, to start from scratch, and she now plays better than I do. She also was determined to learn/understand the computer and sends emails and text messages almost as much as my kids. She’s one up on me on the text messaging. I just don’t gh-a-tuv-de (have in punch-it-three- times text message typing) the patience for it, but she does.

We went out tonight and if lots of food is equated with a good birthday, we all are set for the next year. We ate at a place called Ouisie’s Table in Houston, and it was quite good. I need a marathon to work off those calories though.

Here are a few pics from our evening. Only Lindsay is still home, going back to school after she and her boyfriend, Andrew (pictured here) run the marathon on Sunday. Mike is running it with them. I am tired just thinking about it, but they are pumped. Not pooped. Amazing. So, Happy Birthday, Mother, and many more!

As I looked at your family’s Christmas picture I had a hard time knowing which one was the MOM. I must say you sure do not look like you are old enough to have children the age of yours. This is coming from a 50 year old woman. You look great!!!

    You have a beautiful family!

What a beautiful honor to a lovely woman on her birthday.

    Many blessings,
    Julie

It is truly a gift from God to have a mother in law that you truly love and admire. I feel the same about mine. You and your family are beautiful and radiate love.

What a fun night! This was such a nice tribute to Mike’s Mom and Dad. Maybe your mother-in-law can teach you to text! It’s easy once you get the hang of it. I’m impressed with the marathon running! You all look so happy and healthy! Thanks for sharing your pictures with us.

All I know of you is the beautiful heart I see in posts, e-mail’s, comments. And it’s a heart like I Kings 15:14 “fully committed.” Your post so honors Mike’s unstoppable faithful mom.
