Again, the Scriptures this week focus on so many things, so many lessons, so much testimony of His power. Imagine the awe the Israelites must have felt to stand right in the middle of it as He allowed them to walk across a mighty Red Sea and sustain them for forty years. He alone was their provision. He alone is ours. Hope you had a blessed week as you let His Word minister to you. Mine was a catch up week, here at the last, but my heart overflows with meeting God on every page. He is our manna, with new mercies each morning, our Blood of righteousness, and our mighty healer of every hurt or weakness. As we begin Lent this week, it is so appropriate to take this walk through the desert with our mighty and sustaining Lord. Week Six: Exodus 7:14- Exodus 27

The Blood that will never lose its Power. (12:12, 14) – “and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. 14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the LORD -a lasting ordinance.” Compare Luke 22:20 “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” Christ is the Passover Lamb that takes our place and God passes over us by His cleansing blood. We stand righteous covered just like the doorpost in the powerful and saving blood of the Lamb of God. A lasting ordinance in Exodus becomes an eternal Grace in Christ alone.

Stand firm and still, and allow the Lord to fight for you. (14:13, 14)”Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today… The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” This whole chapter is so dear to me because a friend who has for 16 years fought cancer was given these verses in Exodus to claim. She was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer all those years ago, and had a two year old daughter. This year, she will see her baby graduate high school. It has not been without struggle or an instantaneous miracle though. She has had several recurrences, but from the beginning God also gave her the Scripture, in Exodus 23, (23:29) – But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. Little by little, He has driven out every enemy in her body and she knows “the Lord who heals her” intimately and brings Him such glory testifying to His power daily with her story.

The Lord who heals you.(15:26) He said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”

He knows our needs. In Exodus 16, the people of Israel grumbled despite His generous provision with new manna and meat. This is a personal ouch. I am reminded by Joyce Meyer that it is easy to be negative, but takes some work to be positive. God is the place to find refreshment and new mercies each morning. Come quietly, and sit with Me awhile, and let Me encourage you today. All is not lost; all is not hopeless. In humbleness, confess all your failures to Me.” (1 John 1:9). I already know what you think and how you feel. Nothing you say will take Me by surprise. I am here to alleviate your load; exchange your heavy yoke for Mine (Matthew 11:30).

Anybody ready for Him to alleviate your load, exchange it for a yoke of obedience unto Him who carries our burdens? He’s sitting with you waiting for your answer.
