In a few days, I am headed to Siesta Fiesta. Thousands of women who love the Lord will converge in San Antonio and hug necks and put faces with favorite blogs we’ve come to love. Just a moment ago, I received a comment on this old post from Michelle and it reminded me of my trip to Jacksonville to see Living Proof Live and met a dear blogging friend Kathy. Since Jacksonville in March, I realized that as wonderful as it was, it was just a taste of what is to come this weekend as we put faces with hearts that we know. If you are coming, let me know. If you are not, I pray we will meet face to face before heaven. We will have a glorious reunion one Day.
Until then,

What an amazing weekend we had at Beth Moore’s conference, “Apprehended.” My sister got to go with me and we had a blast. She, however, was not as comfortable/familiar with the Blogville aspect of the weekend but she loved Kathy and her friends. Turns out she and Kathy do the same thing professionally. It was Siestaville I (San Antonio will be #2) for me as I got to meet one of my favorite blogging friends, Kathy. She had organized a delightful group of women from the Tampa area and we had so much fun at dinner on Friday evening. She even had some t-shirts designed for the event, so my sister and I are honorary “Sonshine State” Siestas!
I’ve been thinking a lot about what blogging in Christian circles of women has shown me, and one thing stands out. Bloggers meet each others’ hearts before they see them face to face. You already know someone sometimes better than your friend next door because you know their soul.
As we waited for the conference to start in Florida, I talked to a woman named Wanda. And she told me she was “Anonymous” on the Living Proof blog. I was so excited to meet her, with all her wonderful comments on the LP Blog. Seriously, she was such a joy and we started visiting like we knew each other well. We even realized we have a common friend who goes to her church, “Sammie.” I am in such awe of how good God is to give us one another.
I think it is a little taste of what heaven will be like when we see each other face to face for the first time and we already feel like family. I can’t begin to do justice to the weekend we experienced in the fellowship of Christ, with my own sister by my side. It was nothing short of a taste of heaven. So, I won’t try but I will leave you with a quote to give you a glimpse of what it all was about. Apprehend that for which He apprehended you.
“You are more than what you’ve become.” –The Lion King, 1994.
