Life is a dance to me. If not, then it should be. When I am aware of its beauty, it is choreographed. There are theme songs running through my life each day, and music is the constant. No doubt, there are different songs for different days, but nevertheless, there is a continual song of the heart. Some days it’s upbeat and peppy, and some days only the slowest of deep and beautiful melodies would begin to describe the emotion. Words are just words. But with music, there is feeling. Within music, the pure Breath of God authenticates the moment. Once in a while, we get a faint sound of the angels singing choruses in the heavenlies. Or sometimes, it’s in the absence of God that defines the place, where we can feel the song of pure pain and distance. Just one part I am sure of: in both, there is a song.
More times than not, I include a song on my posts, mostly because, upon finishing the post, it feels so incomplete. It seems it needs more. It needs the emotion of music to bring it life. I know some of you love music and some of you would prefer not to listen, so I try to make it optional where it doesn’t play automatically. But the music part is my heart. The music is where I dance out each day. One of the tangible pieces of this life that will be eternal is music, and I believe that is one reason it reaches many of us. It is the eternal captured in the present. It is God’s beautiful gift to our heart to evoke emotions of almost every nature. It is a call to respond. Some music makes you cry. Other makes you energized; some makes you dance. The best music causes me to worship. It transports me directly to the Lord’s Feet. Music can be an earnest prayer, a piercing cry, an overwhelming joy, a captured place of pain or ecstasy, or a complex dance of all of the above. So, dance this day, if you can. There is a song playing. And delight in Him, wherever He has placed you, totally beyond any circumstance you are facing. Psalm 34 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
Blessings of an overflow of the heart today. I hope you dance.
