Most of us know where our Achilles’ heel is, both physically and figuratively. Mine is a quick temper and a tendency to have anxiety over little things. I have no problem believing that Christ died for my sins and saves me for all eternity, and when I stand before the throne, His Blood will blanket me and make me acceptable before the Lord. Yet, I deal with daily struggles so poorly. I could use this as practice for the big blows of life, but I tend to revert back to old habits. In those times where just a mustard seed of faith is required, I need to remind myself, “Christ, you died for this, too.” His redemptive blood covers the details as well as the big battles of our lives. I am amazed how I seem to sail through the bigger crises for the most part, but worry over the small things. He obviously gives strength for the biggies and flat out carries us, but wants us to flex our faith muscle on the daily trials. Jesus, who died for all these reasons, said in Luke, “he who is faithful in very little is also faithful in much.” It’s time to move in faith. I must believe Him for every detail, and be set free in little as well as much.It is for freedom that He set us free. We are not meant to be only free in eternity. Freedom is even bigger than that. It is in the small details, too. That freedom starts the day we believe on Him for it.
