Today in church, we had a guest speaker who personified why we are memorizing our Scripture memory verses. This morning for a full 30 minutes, Tim McKenzie recited nothing but God-breathed memorized Scripture that presented the full Gospel message from Creation to Christ. I had chills and/or tears by the time he’d spoken five minutes. Certainly there wasn’t a soul there who couldn’t feel the Word come alive as in Hebrews 4:12.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 ESV)
I encourage you to check out his site, www.oneveryword.com, and witness The Word of God’s life transforming nature. His Word can’t help but change you as you tuck it away into your heart. His Word is never more true and pure as when you get it deep enough. I pray for each of us that by the time this year is over, His Word has planted His very Breath in our lives, His Wisdom in our minds, His Love in our hearts.
My verse this week is:
Ephesians 3: 20-21 (NIV) – Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
I am memorizing I Cor 2:9…
But as it is written: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, and what has never come into a man’s heart, is what God has prepared for those who love Him.
One of my favorites too. I aways get tongued tied over immeasurably more if I try to say it fast. Mine is Psalm 3:3.
I love this… “Immeasurably more”! I will be testing you, Annette! I pray these verses aren’t just to memorize, but to change us forever! To HIM be the glory throughout ALL generations. You always choose the richest verses. I love how you put it on that picture, too! I hope this woman becomes a little wiser this year… “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.” (Proverbs 14:1).

This is one of my favorite verses…I may have to use it too..I’ve asked and asked Him to show me what to choose this time. I thought He gave me something else..but I know now it’s this one. I know what it says and can say it paraphased but not the exact wording…now I will. Thank you for sharing that on your site….it is an answer to prayer. Blessings on your time of worship tomorrow.
