a new year and other well-intentioned beginnings

I went to the gym yesterday just to make sure my car still remembered how to get there. It did. I walked in that building exactly a year ago and worked out, but when I came back the next day, a sign said “Closed for Remodeling”. They were closed two weeks. I, on the other hand, shut off corporate exercise for a whole year. I started back yesterday.  I’m on it again, determined to lose a few pounds and meet a few accountability partners, and to put good health again as one of the tenets I believe in. To the best of my ability, I will incorporate exercise and several other good habits once again into the new year. Priorities have to start somewhere. I just wished I didn’t start the same ones over and over again!

At any rate, here we are. On the brink of another year, full of promise and excitement. I’m glad to turn the page and start a brand new notebook. A clean slate does wonders for the soul.  A promise of newness and do-overs can motivate  and awaken like little else.

Once again, I’m doing Scripture memory with another group and I will share my memory verses here with you. Chances are you’ll know right where I am by the verse that I choose. God’s Word always has a remarkable wisdom to address my situation wherever I find myself. It’s truly medicine for my soul, health for my bones.

May this new year be filled with a longing for more of Him. May your days be filled with a joy none can steal, a peace none can disturb, a Love stronger than any undermining. Let us live and love well! Blessed 2011 to you and your loved ones.

Hebrews 12:12 ~ “Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. ” (NIV)

  1. So glad to spend a little time with you yesterday…in person…over coffee and sweet treats…My prayer is we grow in Christ and serve Him well in 2011 by listening, obeying, loving the unlovable with boldness.

    Love, Annette H
